A businessman was in big trouble

A businessman was in big trouble. He had put everything into his business and now it was failing.

It was so bad that he even considered suicide. As a last resort, he went to a priest and told him his story full of tears and suffering.

When he finished, the priest said:

“Here’s what I want you to do: Put a beach chair and your Bible in your car and drive to the beach.

Take the beach chair and the Bible to the water, sit in the beach chair and place the Bible on your lap.

Open the Bible; The wind will blow through the pages, but eventually the open Bible will come to rest on one page.

Look at the page and read the first thing you see. That will be your answer telling you what to do.”

A year later, the businessman went back to the priesthood, bringing his wife and children with him. The man wore a new tailored suit, his wife wore a mink coat and the children were beaming.

The businessman pulled an envelope filled with money from his pocket and handed it to the priest in gratitude for his advice.

The priest recognized the benefactor and was curious. “You did what I suggested?” he asked.

“Absolutely,” the businessman replied.

“You went to the beach?”

“Absolutely.”

“You were sitting in a beach chair with the Bible on your lap?”

“Absolutely.”

“You let the pages shoot until they stopped?”

“Absolutely.”

“And what were the first words you saw?”

“Chapter 11.”
